 We had 3 English classes that all lasted for three hours, but at least we had a break for 20 minutes. 

At the first time, we mainly learned more about Moorland Hall and also other parts of England. After the break, we then learned more about diary writing in English. It was a little boring but fine. In the break, most of us played Volleyball together. That was quite fun.

Second time, we learned about English idioms and also told our teacher Chris some german ones. I liked that pretty much. After that, we finished our diaries of the day. After the break, we started doing projects about stuff like the Eden Project, Ancient Dartmoor etc. 

The third time of English, we learned about different British accents (there are LOTS of them), and after the break just finished our projects.

Overall, it wasn‘t my favourite part of Moorland Hall but it was great for relaxing a bit from all the activities.

Capture the flag

Have you ever heard of or played the game capture the flag? It’s basically a game you play on a big space with two teams. Every team has a flag and they have to steal the flag of the others. When we were in Moorlandhall, one evening Jo announced we would go play Capture the flag on the moor. Like always, we had time to change so we would be dressed appropriately for the activities. We already knew there was a lot of mud on the moor so we put on rain trousers and coats (as always). On the field there were also a lot of spikey bushes with yellow flowers and they where very dangerous apparently. At the end it was 1:1 but Jo didn’t let us play another round, so it stayed like that - still, the two rounds were exciting and pretty fun. To sum up I liked to play Capture the flag with the class, but I wished we could have played another round (just to have a winner)! See you soon, Vicky

Mayflower Starting point

Hi guys, Benjamin here. I want to tell you about a very important place in Plymouth. It’s the starting point of the “Mayflower“ in the city‘s harbour. But let me tell you a bit about the ship: Looking for a place to practice their radical Christianity, about 100 English Puritans (an English christian movement) set off for America on the Mayflower on September 16, 1620. These Pilgrim Fathers unwittingly laid the foundation for the creation of the United States. It was really unbelieveable to stand there, knowing that the formation of such an important country began right there. All in all our trip to Plymouth was very cool and exciting. Bye

Free time activities

FREE TIME Everyday, mostly before lunch or after dinner we had some freetime to do whatever we wanted to on the grounds of Moorlandhall.When the weather was nice outside, which it luckily was almost everyday, we went on to the big field outside and played football, often till after nine in the evening. Sometimes our whole class was playing, sometimes we were only about half the class, but regardless it was very,very fun.   Some of the time we were in the community room either playing „Stadt Land Vollpfosten“ or we were trying to build a 1000 piece puzzle while also talking about different topics. Some of us even played some songs on the piano and teached others to. When we were outside sometimes we also played volleyball.When the stars were shining beautifully outside we talked into the night. We really enjoyed having some free of any  by ourselves.
