Hello guys!
During our trip to Moorland Hall we spoke a lot of English and learned a lot as well and I think everyone’s pronunciation improved quite a lot. The English teacher Chris also told us a bit about the Devonian accent.
tor - Tors are really old rock formations. (a keltic word)
quay - quays are streets along a coast.
“Shire” at the end of a city’s name ist spoken like “sha” or “shir”.
dreckly - soon
gurt- great (big)
“Alrite me luvver” - alright mate, hello love
Tom teddy - tadpole
dimpsy - the damp light in the morning or evening
